NVS 6th Class Admission 2026 Begins:
JNVST has released the new notification for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya selection Test JNVST 2026, Navodaya Vidyalaya NVS Class 6 Online Registration Form 2026 has started from 1st July, 2025 to July 29, 2025 through the official website of the Authority.

Objectives of the scheme:
- To provide good quality modern education including a strong component of culture, inculcation of values, awareness of the environment, adventure activities and physical education to the talented children predominantly from rural areas.
- To ensure that students attain a reasonable level of competency in three languages.
- To promote national integration through migration of students from Hindi to Non-Hindi speaking State and vice-versa.
- To serve in each district as focal point for improvement in quality of school education in general through sharing of experiences and facilities.
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test-2026:
JNV Selection Test for admission to Class 6th in JNVs for the academic session 2026-27 will be held in two phases as given below:
- On Saturday, 13th December, 2025 at 11.30 A.M. : In the state of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh (except Dibang Valley & Tawang Districts), Bihar, Chattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh (except Chamba,kinnar,Mandi, Simour,kullu, Lahaul & Spiti, Solan and Shimla Districts), Jammu & Kashmir ( only for Jammu-1, Jammu-2, Samba & Udhampur) Jharkhand, Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharastra, Manipur, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tripura, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand & West Bengal (except Darjeeling), Union Territories of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Dadar & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Delhi, Lakshadweep and Puducherry.
- On saturday, 11th April, 2026 at 11.30 A.M: In the states of Jammu and Kashmir ( except Jammu-1, Jammu-11, Samba & Udhampur), Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and in the District of Dibang Valley and Tawang of Arunachal Pradesh, in the Districts of Chamba, Kinnaur, Mandi, sirmour, Kullu, Lahaul & Spiti, Solan and Shimla of Himachal Pradesh, in the District of Darjeeling of West Bengal, and Leh & kargil districts of UT Ladakh.
Procedure to register online for JNV Selection Test 2026:
- The process for submission of application for JNV Selection Test has been simplified through online process. Registration can be done free of cost through the admission portal of NVS linked through https://navodaya.gov.in
- The following documents in soft form (JPG format of size between 10 to 100 kb) may be kept ready for registration: 1. Photograph 2.Signature of parent 3.Signature of student 4. Aadhaar details/ Residence certificate issued by competent Government authority.
- Basic details of candidate like stake,District, Block, Aadhaar number, APAAR Id, PEN number etc. are to be filled in the application portal.
- The eligible candidates have to fill up the online form and upload the photograph along with signatures of both candidate and his/her parent.
- No request will be entertained to correct/modify the data submitted by applicants.
- The correction window to modify the information filled in the selected areas ( Gender, Area, Category, Disability, and Medium of Examination) will be opened for few days subsequent upon the last date of submission of application form. The information of opening correction window will be uploaded in NVS website/registration portal.
Issue of Admit Cards:
- The admit cards will be made available as per date decided by NVS in due course which will be displayed on application portal. The admit cards shall be downloaded free of cost by the candidates/parents before the conduct of JNVST 2026.
Who is Eligible:
- Admission of candidate to class VI in a JNV is district specific. A candidate who is studying class V in a district is allowed to apply for admission to JNV in the same district only.
For Rural Candidates:
- At least 75% of the seats in a district will be filled by candidates provisionally selected from Rural Areas of the district. The remaining seats are open which will be filled on merit from both Urban and Rural Area candidates of the district as per selection criteria.
Documents To Be Submitted After Selection:
- Proof of date of Birth.
- Proofs for eligibility as per the candidates of NVS.
- Residence Certificate.
- Copy of Aadhaar Card of the candidate.
- Certificate by the Head Master of the school regarding study details of class III, IV and V.
- Medical fitness certificates.
- Undertaking for Migration.
- Disability certificate ( if applicable )
- Category/ community certificate.
